From July 19 to July 27, I participated in the Summer School of Science (S3 2017) in Požega, Croatia as a mentor.

The team of four high-school students (Karolina from Lithuania, Leon from Croatia, Mark from Czechia, and Paja from Serbia) worked on the project entitled “Who’s winning it? Forecasting sports tournaments” under my supervision. They investigated parameter tuning for the EURO 2016 forecasting model and extending it with data-driven match score forecasting using Poisson regression. The results are available as a Jupyter notebook on Github.
